Crystal stone is a type of stone and it’s called ‘porcelain’ because of the sound it makes when we tap on it. it’s from the familly of marble but it has much bigger grading in comparison to marble stone

Pure crystal stone is white and shiny but it’s mostly found in ashen with gray veins. It’s extracted by using diamond wire

Features

In this type of stone water absorption is less than 1%. It weighs 2.7 Ton/m³   . it’s resistance against weathering is exemplary.

Usage

In the past few years it was used in building’s façade but today because of low color variation it’s less used in building facades. This kind of stone is the best choice for curbs and pavements and it’s suitable for stairs. So it’s used in renewing the sidewalks and aqueducts of Valiasr St. in Tehran. In this project all the curbs from Tajrish Sq. to Rah Ahan Sq. are made of Laybid crystal. Laybid and Brojerd’s mines are the most important mines in this field.
